Iconic donut shop closes

One of our loyal readers who just returned from a vacation out of Escondido reports that the iconic Marte’s Donut Shop, has closed. The donut shop was located at 1131 E Washington Ave. (corner of Ash and Washington) and had operated for more than four decades, serving sweet treats to generations of Hidden City residents.
