Stand Up Ride & BBQ will benefit combat veterans

The Combat Vets Motorcycle Association (CVMA) California Chapter 33-1 will hold the 5th annual Stand Up Ride & BBQ “standing up for those who stood up for us,” Saturday, April 8, starting at the Escondido Elks Lodge, 2430 S. Escondido Blvd. Registration is at 7:30 a.m. with the last bike out at 9:30 a.m.

All proceeds benefit veterans and veteran’s programs.

The association is a veterans riding association comprised of full patch combat veteran members, auxiliary and support members.

A member, Steven Wagstaff, told The Times-Advocate: “We are not a motorcycle club, an important distinction to us. We exist to fulfill our sole purpose of Veterans Helping Veterans.”

This year’s event will feature a ride routed through San Diego county highlighting some of the best riding in the area. At the venue there will be live music from “Final Days,” food, car shows,  vendors and lots of prizes and drawings.

“We pride ourselves on the fact that 100% of all proceeds raised will go directly to Veterans and Veterans programs in need,” said Wagstaff.

This event is open to the entire public. Whether you ride, drive, pedal or walk, there is something for you at this event.
