Renaissance Faire opens April 29

A character who looks amazingly like Captain Jack Sparrow enchants a little girl, who is soaking up all of the wonders at a recent Renaissance Faire

April 29 & 30 and May 6 & 7, will mark the 18th year for the Renaissance Faire produced by Olde Tyme Productions Inc.

The Ren Faire will be held for the 29th straight year in Felecita Park in Escondido. The Faire starts at 10 a.m. each day and runs until 6 a.m.

This is the longest continually running Renaissance Faire in San Diego County. This year the organizers announce the return of Jousting to the Ren Faire. They will feature two stages with continual entertainment, live reenactments, a beer garden, a food court second-to-none, craft vendors, a kid’s area as well as the roaming participants in their period 16th century clothing, transporting you back in time for a few hours.

Invited special guests for the 2017 Faire Opening Day on April 29 are Representative Duncan Hunter, Assemblywoman Maria Waldren, County Supervisor Kristin Gasper, Escondido Councilwomen Olga Diaz, Escondido Councilman Ed Gallo, Escondido Councilman John Masson, and Escondido Councilman Mike Morasco.
