Musicians play it up for kids’ diabetes cure—




Renowned jazz artist Richard El­liot will perform a benefit concert with special guest musicians at the California Center for the Arts, Es­condido on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Founda­tion, which is searching for a cure to Type 1 diabetes. Elliot is a Scottish- born American saxophone player. He was a member of the funk band Tower of Power playing tenor sax for 5 years during the 1980s. He also worked on Stacy Lattisaw’s 1986 al­bum “Take Me All The Way.”

Joining Elliot at the Concert Hall will be Rick Braun, a trumpet vir­tuoso who was winner of Billboard magazine’s Top Smooth Jazz Songs Artist of 2015, and smooth jazz gui­tarist Peter White. Tickets are $40 to $90.
