Making Escondido Shine award winner
Two weeks ago, The Times-Advocate invited submissions of photos taken during the April 22 15th annual Creek to Bay Clean-up, a partnership of Escondido Shines and I Love a Clean San Diego (ILACSD.) We promised to put the best one on the front page. Here it is: Angel Ramirez, with two brimming bags of trash. Escondido Shines provided $100 to the winner.
Bobbi Akans submitted the above photo and the photo below, from police department where volunteers worked at the Reidy Creek project. She wrote: “We had 54 volunteers that registered and about 26 showed up and they WORKED. We were able to fill a 40-yard dumpster about half way full.”
This photo of a man and a little boy was submitted by David Milne.
David Legarreta submitted this photo of four young women taking part in the clean-up.
Two more photos (above and below) from the Reidy group, also submitted by Bobbi Akans.
