The April 20th Times-Advocate explains to us that the city of Escondido will get almost $900,000 extra to use for road repairs. This desperately needed money might fix some of the pot holes around the city. A hearty thanks to our legislature for voting to approve these funds.
I did a quick search for how our local legislator voted since she has an editorial in the same paper. To my horror Marie Waldron voted against. Why in the world would our representative want to deny the city these needed funds? Doesn’t she have to drive on the same roads that we do? It’s time Ms. Waldron stops voting against our interests or maybe we’ll just replace her next time she asks for our votes.
RICH REINHOFER, Escondido
Editor’s note: This is the same bill that adds a 12 cent per gallon tax for motorists.
