Brad Brittain, familiar to many Valley Center residents as a longtime title company representative, has moved to First American Title, with offices in Escondido, where he is working closely with Kim Beukelman. They are a team.

Brittain likes First American Title. “They are so friendly and helpful and it’s a wonderful team environment,” he said recently as he discussed the move. “I’m a team guy. I’m a camaraderie guy and I’m delighted to work for a company that provides both.”

Most people don’t think about what title company they work with when they sell a piece of property, but perhaps they should. It is a common misconception that you don’t select the title company you work with, that your Realtor does. Actually, you are the boss because you are paying for the service.

“It is important to work with a reputable company that has a representative in the area. And there are several of them around,” Brittain said. “But given that choice, it’s to your advantage to choose a local company.”

So, why would you care which title company you use? “First American Title supports Valley Center—all things Valley Center. The kids. The music. The schools, the programs and charities,” said Brittain. “We are part of the community, and a member of the Valley Center Community Aid Group aka the Valley Center Real Estate Professionals, a 501 (c3) which raises money for scholarships and other community causes as well; as well as the Valley Center Chamber of Commerce.”

“There are two parts to every real estate transaction. The more you support local companies the more you help Valley Center.“ He added, “First American Title works hand in glove with VC people who are active in the community, such as Larry McKenzie, John Yeager and Dianne Conaway.”

Kim Buekelman has lived in Valley Center for 13 years. She is also a member of the VC Community Aid Group. She has two sons who are Valley Center High School graduates.

We were delighted when Brittain told us, “I’m an advocate of the Times Advocate!”
