A Ship in the Woods to close out WAKE exhibit Saturday

A Ship in the Woods becomes a magical place at night.

A Ship in the Woods (aka WSOHOIDPS) will present a closing event for the exhibition, WAKE on Saturday, April 22 and will feature immersive art installations. The event starts at 7 p.m. and runs until 11 pm.

According to co-executive director Lianne Mueller, “This event looks at both human weakness, our past and the beauty of our own decay.  For this event, A Ship in the Woods decided to throw our own version of an Irish Wake. Scientists and artists will question our vanishing ecosystem, climate change, and the decline of our political system. Come pay respects to the universal self as we move through uncharted waters and unveil questions that examine the wake of our future existence. Remember to dress appropriately and bring flowers.”

One difference from the opening reception of the exhibition is that instead of having live bands, they will focus on the art. Another difference:  Cristopher Cichocki will present another exhibit instead of Circular Dimensions. There will also be some added features, such as Virtual Realty by Kate Parsons and the 8ft x8ft Moiree Generator pattern maker.

A Ship in the Woods thanks the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego for lending William Feeney’s Bigsnooz.

There is a $7 donation. Parking is available ONLY at Felicita County Park. $3 car will be charged at the gate. Proceeds from this will help support the park.
